MEDISOFT SERVICE PACK 3
-Service
Pack 3 for Medisoft Version 11 will allow for the printing
of the new CMS 1500 as well as electronic transmission
of NPI. Please check back for the release date and information
on how to install the service pack.

NOTICE TO ALL MEDISOFT
USERS: Only Medisoft
Version 11 will be able to accomodate NPI number on HCFA
printed claims and electronic submissions. All versions
of Medisoft below Version 11 must upgrade to continue to
send claims. Contact 1st Care for more information
New HCFA-
1500 To Be Released- The
revised version of the HCFA- 1500 and CMS-1500 have been
approved! All versions of Medisoft prior to Version 11
are incapable of supporting the new forms. As of April
2007, only the new revised form will be accepted. Call
today to place your order for the revised forms.
NPI Requirements- The Countdown has begun... All HIPAA
covered healthcare providers must obtain an NPI for use
to identify themselves in HIPAA standard transactions.
Once enumerated, a provider's NPI will not change. The
NPI remains with the provider regardless of job or location
changes.
HIPAA covered entities must use only the NPI to identify covered healthcare providers
in standard transactions by May 23, 2007. To obtain your NPI number simply
call Medicare at (866)309-0486 and they will fax your NPI number to your office.
Medisoft Service
Pack 2- The new Service Pack 2 has been
released for Medisoft Version 11 users. Due to the nature
of the fixes in Service Pack 2 for Version 11, please contact
1st Care Consulting for instructions on how to install.
Our technicians can walk you through the installation process
or your practice can place an order for the Service Pack
to be mailed to your office on a disk.

Charting Plus EHR) recently announced the they will guarantee
their software is compliant with impending government requirements.
1st Care strongly advises that all practices
use MediSoft Version 11 to ensure proper electronic data
interchange and HIPAA readiness. 1st Care Consulting can
not guarantee the efficiency of MediSoft Version 8 or
below. Any office using legacy versions should immediately
consider upgrading.

In order to install the update, please follow these directions:
Attention: If you do not have a current serial number
for the program you install, the program will become disabled,
and you will not be able to utilize it.
1. Download the file that is appropriate
for your version of Medisoft. Note that there are
patches listed for both Version 10 and 11. To find out what
version of Medisoft you are currently on, go to HELP then
ABOUT MEDISOFT, you will there see your version number. These
files are linked on the right side of this screen.
3. Open the file folderafter the download has finished.
4. Double-click on the file install.exe.
5. Follow the prompts to install the update to the
same directory into which Medisoft was installed.
